ABOUT TWINKLE TOTS

Welcome to Twinkle Tots,

My name is Saba Shah.  As a Director, being a mother of three children and an educator, my pledge is to educate children and join hands with their families to develop their educational path.  I am very well aware of parents’ requirements and expectations for their children’s developmental needs and more significantly, the care that is provided to their child in their absence. Here at Twinkle Tots, I shall put all my effort at best to surpass your expectations.

I have a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from California State University, Long Beach. My education has broadened my knowledge in child development and their various learning styles. This knowledge has also provided me with an in-depth understanding of the diverse needs of children and their families.

Educating children has been an integral part of my life since 1990, when I first took over as a Kindergarten Teacher.  Since then, I have had an opportunity to work with diverse communities including families and professionals in the field of Early Childhood Education.

Our Twinkle Tots community is growing and we are developing a positive close knit relationship with the children and their families. We welcome you and look forward to meeting and serving you and your children. Building trust with the children and their families is extremely important to us and therefore, we will work together to build a strong foundation for your child’s future.

Sincerely,

Saba Shah

Our Philosophy

Twinkle Tots philosophy is based on the Reggio Emilia approach. We provide a warm, enriching, and nurturing environment with a child-led and inquiry-based learning.

The vital features of Reggio philosophy include art inspired and hands on learning such as self expression, artistic exploration, sensory learning, and pretend play.

The Reggio Emilia Approach

The Reggio Emilia approach is an early childhood  education approach developed by Loris Malaguzzi based on the idea that children develop their personalities at a young age full of potential with the capability to adapt. This approach concludes that children have an inherent deep curiosity and are gifted with the ability to express their ideas through a hundred symbolic languages. Twinkle Tots collaborates with the children in the use of these languages through various activities such as clay molding, artwork, and pretend play.  Our program is founded on the basis that curiosity motivates children through self-guided curriculum, investigative learning, and firsthand discovery.
